What is IndoGen.us?
IndoGen.us is an English-language bridge to Indonesian people, places, stories, and opportunity. Connect helps people discover one another with context; the Map makes place-based exploration tangible; and Journey helps each person name their own starting point.
Who is IndoGen for?
It is for people with Indonesian parents, grandparents, or earlier family roots; people who left Indonesia while young; and partners, friends, or anyone building a genuine connection with Indonesia.
How does IndoGen Connect work?
Members share structured, human-reviewed profiles about their work, Indonesian connection, and the conversations they welcome. Introduction requests include a clear purpose and are only forwarded when relevant. Private contact details are never posted publicly.
Are the current Connect profiles real?
The four profiles and their photographs are fictional examples created to test the MVP experience. Real members would review and approve their own profile before publication.
What does my IndoGen Journey mean?
Your Journey reflects how Indonesia entered your story and how that connection feels now. It is not an ancestry test, authenticity score, or judgment about how Indonesian you are.
What can I discover through Explore the Map?
The map begins with six places and connects each one to introductory language, food, history, family prompts, and relevant community stories. It is designed as a starting point rather than a complete cultural guide.
